In today’s episode of the Squiggly Path we meet with author, artist, entrepreneur and the epitome of hope, Laurel Diane Rund.
Laurel began her career in administrative management in New York City at a time when many women didn’t realize that they could absolutely have their own careers and squiggly paths. After the loss of her husband of 42 years Laurel found her voice through poetry and writing in a bereavement group. Though encouragement, inner strength and a life long love of learning Laurel published a book, Emerging Voices, began creating integrated digital art and after countless requests from clients built her Essence of Laurel website!
Using resources in her local community and the online learning resource Lynda.com Laurel taught herself PhotoShop, InDesign, WordPress, and search engine optimization.
In the podcast we discuss Laurel’s journey, her career moves from NYC to Silicon Valley and eventually to Florida. We get awesome insight on how she built an audience, gained clients and relied on her mantra, “if not now, when” to heal her overwhelming sadness with creativity.
We also get a glimpse on what is in the future for Laurel, crowd funding is on the list and finding new contributors for her powerful series Metamorphosis-Your Stories.
Thank you for your time Laurel! I really enjoyed our conversation.
