Welcome to my new home for MachoGeek, for those of you who came via MachoGeek.net. I’ve decided to put all my thoughts, ideas and life lessons here at Webshoo. Should be an interesting mix of blog posts, since Webshoo is so eclectic, fresh, opinionated, experimental and a life sharing community.
Anyway, we’ll see how this works out. It’s Good Friday and as part of our family prayers today, we were listening to Saint Francis’ Prayer by Angelina. Interesting background about this song or prayer, is there is no evidence that Saint Francis of Assisi actually wrote it. But that doesn’t really matter, if someone wrote it about Saint Francis or for him, it certainly captures the essence of how St Francis tried to live his life.
Lord, make me an instrument
of Your peace.
Where there is hatred,
let me sow love
Where there is injury,
pardon.
And where there is doubting
let me bring Your faith.
And Lord, make me an instrument
of Your peace.
Where there is despairing,
let me bring Your hope.
Where there is darkness,
Your light.
And where there is sadness,
let me bring Your joy.
Oh Divine Master,
grant that I might see,
not so much to be consoled
as to console.
To be understood
as to understand
Not so much to be loved
as to love another.
For it is in giving
that we now recieve
it is in pardoning
that we are now pardoned
and it is in dying
that we
are now born again
And Lord, make me an instrument
of Your peace.
Where there is hatred
let me bring Your love
